We used to put all our effort into the presents under the tree, then just grab whatever riff-raff was hanging around the Target dollar aisle for stockings. We’d thrown in a last-minute treat and a lip balm or something for ourselves. But then we were left with a bunch of junk that broke or the kids got sick of before the day was over, and the kids started asking why Santa brought us such boring stockings. Now, we try to be more mindful of what we fill our stockings with. It’s so much more fun this way! Here are some suggestions I hope your family will love:
For Mom:
-
- Batiste original dry shampoo I’ve tried so many kinds, but this is my fave!
-
- Biosilk hair serum Put this on your ends and your hair looks shiny and smells amazing!
-
- Nyx soft matte lip cream in Milan People always ask about this color when I wear it. It’s my go-to.
-
- It Cosmetics superhero mascara My friend Jamie clued me into this and I’ll never go back. Better than extensions!
-
- Paula’s Choice skin perfecting exfoliant This is saving me from adult acne.
-
- Morning Glamour satin pillowcase These babies help keep your hair healthy!
-
- Kitchen Aid measuring cups and spoons Santa got these cuties for my stocking this year because it was high time for some replacements in my kitchen.
-
- Capri Blue Volcano travel tin candle I know it’s a trendy scent, but it never gets old!
-
- Rodan and Fields lip renewing serum Pricey, I know, but it saves my dry lips in the winter.
- Madewell tassel earrings I have these in two colors because I love them so much. They go with everything!
For the Kids:
-
- Rubix Cube A fun, screen-free challenge.
-
- Mini Bop It My kids were obsessed with this before we lost it.
-
- Pocket Etch a Sketch This saves us at church!
-
- Sparkle Playdough Even though its messy, I LOVE how long my kids will play with Playdough. And it’s so cheap!
-
- Water beads These little babies provide hours of developmental play for kids.
-
- Uno card game A classic! Our kids are obsessed with this game.
-
- Ridley’s magic set We got this for our magic-loving daughter this year.
-
- Slamwich Another simple card game our kids can’t get enough of.
-
- Paint by Sticker I got these for my kids a couple years ago and they LOVE them. Perfect for church and rainy days.
- Walkie Talkies These are good quality and so fun for indoor and outdoor play.
For Dad:
-
- Nomad Old Spice deodorant I’m a sucker for a good-smelling man. I have a strange habit of smelling my husband’s armpits because they always smell so good. I know, I’m weird. I literally smelled every scent in the deodorant aisle at Target, and this was the winner. You’re welcome.
-
- Car air freshener Can you tell I have a thing for scents?
-
- Magnetic phone mount for car He usually has his phone down on the seat between his legs and I just don’t think it’s safe. Or healthy. 😉
-
- Burberry Brit cologne Makes me swoon.
-
- Beard trimmer A must for a beard-sporting man.
-
- Subscription to the Dollar Shave Club I totally steal the razors and the dream shaving cream because I’ve never found a better razor or shaving cream in my life. The cedar wood body wash is amazing too!
-
- Military survival pen It’s as rad as it sounds. Check it out.
-
- Patterned Stance socks Clay has these and I love when he wears them. They add a fun pop of color to “serious” work/church pants.
-
- Arvo watch Clay has this one and he looks so dapper when he wears it.
- MPow Flame bluetooth headphones Clay’s favorite headphones!
That is a great list–thank you! I just saw those Paint by Stickers on Amazon this morning and I was wondering if they were worth it!
